Playing music
Yes, I've got a clarinet.
It is a Yamaha YCL-26 II student model, now discontinued.
It looks exactly like here:

I try very hard to produce some more or less organized sounds by blowing into the narrow end and moving my fingers over the whole thing and I'm really proud with the results.
Other members of my family do not complain, so either they are really well-behaved or I'm just talented. :-)
I'm a complete self-learner and do not have enough time to engage into some organized course or school. However, I bought a course book "Playing clarinet today" with CDs and lots of tracks to learn from. Following what the instructor says and playing together with the CD is truly relaxing.
In addition, my son seems to really appreciate my performances, which is really encouraging. :-)
I also think about buying a bass and try my hands at it, too.
It may be quite a good idea, since I remember myself playing bass as a
kid.
Listening to music
I have some electronic background in my education (technical college + quite good coverage on univ).
Lots of people try to make some equipment by themselves, especially
valve amplifiers. Of course, I was thinking about it, too.
I realized, however, that building a home-made valve amp of acceptable
quality is much more work than just assembling together the pieces that
even in computer simulations "sound" well. So - I gave up, although
with regret, because I had some ideas already tested in SPICE.
I dream of being able to just write on this page that I have in my house the equipment worth the house, but I cannot.
At the moment, at least... ;-)
Just drop in after some time, maybe I will be able to present you a photo of myself sitting at the pair of Dynaudio Evidence powered by Krell...
